Halloween on the Atari 2600
*Not a poster, but worth a mention!*
As some may not know John Carpenters movie Halloween inspired
a video game of the same name based on the classic horror movie
Halloween! Wizard Video Games is responsible for this little piece
of Atari 2600 history. It was released in 1983 for the now classic
gaming console the Atari 2600. I had an Atari 2600 when i was a
kid and i remember shopping for games to play on it, but i never
spotted this game. Apparently the reason why is because due to
its content and how it come to originate from, it was to graphic to
be placed on shelves. Now i know that strikes us funny today as
i am also guilty of laughing about that piece of info, but back then
you know how it is. If you wanted to buy the game and the store happened to be carrying it, it was behind counters. This game is extremely rare and still sought after by collectors today. But there are two versions of it. Wizard Video Games apparently done away with their stash of inventory to lower costs and several of the copies of the game were sold with no label. So some copies of the cartridge just have "Halloween" written across the cartridge in marker. The other version has a full color label of artwork on the cartridge. Both versions rare, but not determined which one is more wanted by collectors.
